It’s often the unmanned spacecraft that yield the most interesting scientific results.

it was pretty inspiring to watch on late-night NASA tv… it gave me the same sort of feeling that I had as a young boy staying up late to watch them walk on the moon. go NASA! we need more of this.
I have been marked by watching the coverage of the Giotto spacecraft’s approach to Halley in 1986 as a teenager. Even though the images and broadcasts we had back then were much less elaborate than what we get now, it’s been fascinating.
